S.E.A. proudly supports the Disaster Symposium

Recently, SEA was pleased to support the Disaster Symposium 2005, held in Sydney and arranged by the Ambulance Service of NSW in collaboration with NSW Health.

The main topic came as no surprise:
the tsunami tragedy of Boxing Day 2004.

When disaster struck, the NSW Ambulance/Health Counter Disaster Unit coordinated Australian medical assistance to affected areas as part of an international response.

The Symposium provided a unique opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from both health professionals on location, and coordinators in Australia.

The S.E.A. stand at the symposium featured specialised protection and communication equipment for emergencies like this. It provided an opportunity for professional disaster workers to familiarise themselves with negative pressure masks, the SE400 respirator, voice amplifiers, respirator loudhailers, protective hoods and many other products.
