DATA SHEET

Sundström SR77 escape hood
for smoke and chemicals

Updated: 02 Jan 2005

Description:
Emergency smoke/chemical escape hood incorporated with a half face respirator.
The respirator is normally fitted with a special gas/particle filter, providing short-term protection against smoke, carbon monoxide, acrolein, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen cyanide and other toxic gases and particles that may be present in a fire (such as hazardous fumes released from burning plastic materials).

The hood material is heat and chemical resistant.

Usage:
The SR77 is a filter respirator combined with a protective hood with a visor. It is used for rapid (15 minutes) self-rescue.
Used against particles, dust, smoke, fume, bacteria, viruses, biological warfare agents, and a wide range of organic, inorganic and acid gases and ammonia.

Examples FOR ESCAPE ONLY: Sarin, nerve gas, mustard gas, cyanogen, phosgene, radioactive dust, toxic particles, aerosols, tear gas, bacteria, viruses, anthrax, smallpox etc. — Also provides protection against industrial gases such as ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, acid gases, chlorine, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride and many more.

The device can be put on quickly and simply in a single action, without any adjustment.

Product names:
SR77S (for stationary storage)
SR77M (portable)
Face piece:
Sundström SR 90 silicone half mask respirator. Available in Small/Medium and Medium/Large sizes, one of which should fit most people, male or female
Hood:
Coated Nomex heat and chemical resistant material
Visor:
Scratch-resistant, anti-mist, polycarbonate
Fitting:
No adjustment necessary. The respirator is simply pulled down over the head, and there is no strap adjustment. Due to the special design, the hood/mask combination will provide temporary adequate protection even for bearded men during evacuation.
Temperature:
-30°C to +70°C (-22F to +158F)
Filter:
Sundström 210/310 P3 particle filter.
Special gas filter (organic vapour, inorganic gas, acid gas, ammonia + carbon monoxide).
Mask can be fitted with any other Sundström filter.
Weight:
590 g (21 oz)
Size of pack:
120 x 120 x 170 mm (4.7" x 4.7" x 6.7")
Storage:
Rugged PA outer bag
Airtight sealed inner bag
S model for stationary storage only. M model can be worn on a belt or hung on a wall.

Shelf life:

Hood: 15 years if inner bag is unbroken.
Filter: 7.5 years if inner bag is unbroken. Respirator should be returned after 7.5 years for filter replacement and re-sealing of bag. It can then be kept for another 7.5 years.
