What is supplied air?

Where filter protection leaves off, supplied air picks up

There are environments and situations where air purifying (filter) respirators simply cannot provide adequate protection, or are not allowed to be used. For instance:

  • Confined space
  • Air displacement
  • Oxygen deficiency
  • Very high concentrations
  • Very hazardous substances
  • Government regulations
  • Unknown contaminants

If you are not able to clean the surrounding air by filtering it, there is only one solution: to bring clean air with you. This can be achieved in several ways.

These pages give a few hints, tips and ground rules in the selection and use of supplied air respirators.
